Air cartridge filters

Replacement elements for cartridge dust collectors, local extraction and OEM units, selected by geometry, media, surface treatment, gasket and mounting interface to suit the process conditions.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

High filtration area in a compact housing

Pleated media captures dust on the fold surface. As differential pressure rises, the controller sends a short pulse of dry compressed air and the released dust falls into the hopper. Media area, pleat spacing and filtration velocity are calculated for the dust; overly tight pleats impair cleaning.

Three things are monitored in service: ΔP across the clean and loaded stage; pulse cleaning with dry, treated air only; gasket sealing and correct seating of the element.

SHAPES AND INTERFACES

Cartridge type follows the collector and dust duty

We match mounting dimensions, airflow direction, cleaning method, required area and media. Outside diameter alone is not enough for a reliable replacement.

01Open / closed endsCylindrical

The standard element for vertical or horizontal installation, with open/open or open/closed ends, threaded stud or retaining cap.

02Pulse cleaningConical

The taper supports pulse propagation and dust release between adjacent elements in densely packed collectors.

03Low profileOval

For low-profile housings and side access, retaining filtration area where installation depth is limited.

043-lug · twist-lockBayonet and three-lug

Fast twist-to-lock replacement. Flange profile, gasket height and receiver compatibility must match exactly.

05Surface filtrationMembrane and nanofibre

A thin surface layer limits fine-particle penetration into the substrate and supports pulse cleaning; the finish depends on moisture and chemistry.

06OEM replacementSpecial executions

Flanged or threaded ends, metal caps, non-standard length, inner or outer mesh, flame-retardant and elevated-temperature versions.

FILTER MEDIA

Substrate, surface layer and finish work together

Temperatures shown are typical guidance, not a guaranteed rating. The final limit must be confirmed for the media, adhesive, end caps and gasket as an assembly.

Economical with high media area
Check before selection
Humidity, condensation and a typical limit near 80 °C

Important: a standard air-filter cartridge as a complete assembly is rated to a maximum of 135 °C. The supplied polyester sample sheets state up to 120 °C for continuous duty. Values of 180–260 °C belong to selected baghouse or pleated-bag media and must not be applied to a standard cartridge.

ACCURATE SELECTION

Data needed for a replacement cartridge

  1. 01Dimensions

Outside and inside diameter, length, flange, opening and end-cap dimensions.

  2. 02Dust

Composition, particle size, concentration, abrasion, stickiness, moisture and combustibility.

  3. 03Operating duty

Airflow, temperature, humidity, chemistry and operating differential pressure.

  4. 04Collector

Maker, model, receiver photo, airflow direction and pulse-system settings.

APPLICATIONS

Typical duties

An antistatic cartridge alone does not make combustible-dust service safe. The system needs a dust-hazard assessment, conductive bonding, earthing and the engineered venting, suppression or isolation measures required for the site.

LIMITS

Where it works and where it does not fit

01Where it works
  • Fine dry dust: welding, laser, cement, powders
  • Local extraction and compact collectors — 40–60% less floor space than a baghouse
  • OEM replacement by dimensions, interface and media
  • Pulse cleaning with dry, treated compressed air
02Where it does not fit
  • Above 135 °C for the assembly — a pleated bag or baghouse is needed
  • Oil mist and wet aerosol without an oleophobic finish
  • Combustible dust without an explosion-protection concept
  • Wet compressed air, sticky dust and tight pleats — ΔP rises quickly
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can a cartridge be selected from a photo alone?

A photo helps identify the type, but manufacturing requires exact dimensions, end geometry, gasket, media, airflow direction and operating duty.

Which is better: nanofibre or PTFE?

There is no universal winner. Nanofibre often suits fine dry dust and pulse cleaning; PTFE is selected for a stronger surface barrier, difficult dust or moisture after checking pressure drop and lifecycle cost.

Can cartridges be washed?

Only where the media and maker permit it. Polyester usually tolerates washing better than cellulose, but incorrect cleaning damages pleats, membrane and gasket.

Why does differential pressure rise quickly?

Typical causes are high inlet loading, sticky or wet dust, excessive filtration velocity, weak pulses, wet compressed air, tight pleats or failed hopper discharge.

When should the cartridge set be replaced?

After persistent terminal ΔP despite correct cleaning, media or gasket damage, dust breakthrough or the agreed service interval. Elements in one stage are normally replaced as a set.

Can you supply by OEM reference?

Yes, after checking the reference, drawing and operating conditions. Equivalence is verified by dimensions, area, media, efficiency, ΔP and sealing quality, not by name alone.
