Why the cartridge maximum is 135 °C

Media, adhesive, end caps, cage and gasket are rated as one assembly; the supplied PET samples state 120 °C for continuous duty.

THE RULE

Temperature: media versus assembly

This site limits a standard cartridge element to 135 °C maximum. The supplied PET sheets state 120 °C continuous. Even if a fibre tolerates more, adhesive, end caps, cage and gasket may limit the completed product. A substrate sheet therefore does not replace a cartridge assembly datasheet.

Values of 180–260 °C belong to selected baghouse or pleated-bag media and must not be applied to a standard cartridge. Acids, alkalis, oxygen and hydrolysis can also reduce the allowable duty.

Temperatures shown are typical guidance, not a guaranteed rating. The final limit must be confirmed for the media, adhesive, end caps and gasket as an assembly.

SAMPLES

Polyester media samples and data sheets

Ten polyester media samples and data sheets serve as the technical selection references: base PET, point-bond, spunbond, BICO, PTFE membrane, antistatic, flame-retardant and water/oil-repellent finishes. Most of the samples (PET-W-X100, PET-W-F180, PET-W-X150, PET-DG-F170, BICO-W-260, PET-W-XJ140) state 120 °C for continuous duty.

Values apply to the specific sample; the production batch and datasheet are verified before supply. PHOENIX PRIME does not present the sample maker as an official partner.

Q&A

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum temperature of an air cartridge?

This site limits a complete standard cartridge assembly to 135 °C maximum. Many supplied PET samples state 120 °C continuous. The final value is always confirmed by the complete-assembly datasheet.

Why cannot 200 °C be applied to a standard cartridge?

Because it may be a fibre-only limit, while a standard cartridge is also limited by adhesive, end caps, cage and gasket. This site sets 135 °C as the maximum for a standard cartridge.

Why is a pleated bag treated separately?

It fits a baghouse tube sheet and follows different geometry and cleaning checks. Its high-temperature media ratings cannot be automatically applied to a standard cartridge.
