GUIDE

Water treatment and online monitoring

The train follows the analysis and the balance: mechanical filtration, clarification or UF, dosing, softening, RO, EDI or disinfection, then the monitoring points and service. The checklist runs in that order.

CHECKLIST

Eight steps from analysis to service

  1. 01Water analysis

Salinity, hardness, iron, turbidity, SDI, silica and organics. No equipment is selected without a water analysis.

  2. 02Water balance and flow

m³/h and the daily consumption profile; the winter minimum temperature sets the membrane area; recovery and where the concentrate goes: discharge, evaporation or return.

  3. 03Permeate requirement

A standard or the production regulation: boiler and district-heating make-up, pharmaceuticals and beverages, electronics and electroplating, chemicals, food production; each has its own limit.

  4. 04Mechanical stage

Media filters and softeners are the first line of defence for the whole train: they remove suspended solids, iron, chlorine and hardness; bag and cartridge filters sit ahead of the membranes.

  5. 05Membrane stage

UF retains suspended solids, colloids, bacteria and viruses; RO retains dissolved salts. Check SDI, salinity, hardness, silica, organics, recovery and concentrate. RO is not installed where softening is enough.

  6. 06Chemical stage and polishing

Dosing, EDI or ion exchange, disinfection by UV, ozone or reagents. Tanks, pumps, piping and instrumentation, PLC automation with a water-quality log.

  7. 07Monitoring points

By duty: flow, pH, temperature, conductivity, turbidity, TSS, COD/TOC, oxygen, hydrocarbons. Provide bypass, sample conditioning, automatic cleaning, laboratory validation and a maintenance log.

  8. 08Service

Membrane cleaning, cartridge replacement, chemicals. Membrane life is not promised without pre-treatment data.

ONLINE MONITORING

From basic probes to contamination analysers

Parameter
01 / 05Flow
Why it is measured
Instantaneous and totalised volume for discharge and balance control
What to watch
Measurement station and flow regime
ARCHITECTURE

Data for operators and external systems

  • Representative sampling and conditioning
  • Local HMI, archive, trends and alarm limits
  • Industrial protocols and API/gateway preparation
  • Integration with state or corporate platforms after their technical interface is confirmed
THREE RULES

What we do not do

  • We do not select equipment without a water analysis
  • We do not install RO where softening is enough
  • We do not promise membrane life without pre-treatment data
FOR THE ENGINEER

What is needed for the train and the measurement station

Water analysis, measurement ranges, installation point, sampling conditions, communications and reporting requirements. On that basis we offer raw-water analysis and train calculation, membrane selection by actual composition rather than "by flow rate", installation, commissioning and staff training.
